Project Brief
Tracing the roots of Mumbai to her earliest growth surge which is attributable to the industrial settlements, one realizes the importance of well planned industrial townships, as they can be growth magnets of today and become urban centers of tomorrow. The focus of this problem is based on the theme of planning for the future city, within today’s infrastructural requirement. To understand the system mapping in city planning while designing the city.
The client is a company in the field of Logistics and Real Estate looking to develop on basis of PPP, a logistics park and allied township LPAT in the NAINA zone of CIDCO near Navi Mumbai proposed International Airport.
The city of Mumbai is tiny island that has been used up to it’s max capacity. The haphazard development of the city as given rise to various problems. The project is to understand the fundamentals of town planning and the system thinking.
How might we design a logistics park and township that not only meets current infrastructural requirements but also fosters sustainable growth, positioning it as a future urban center?
